We are a family-oriented business that truly cares for the wellbeing of our animals and customers. Our chickens have access to natural food resources enjoying clean, fresh pasture land daily and the associative foraging prospects. This attention to detail and quality of life for the birds produces a much healthier and more nutrient dense product for our customers. We raise our chickens the natural way; with free grazing access to grass pasture with bugs, wild forage, and supplemental premium feed. Because our chickens eat from a variety of natural food sources and participate in active foraging, our birds live a significantly more active lifestyle than their industrial-raised counterparts. This combination of exercise and natural food sources results in a chicken with a more complex flavor and more developed muscle structure than that of a supermarket chicken. This additional muscle development requires a resting period of 1-3 days post-thaw at refrigerated temperature to ensure the muscles have an opportunity to “relax” and tenderize. Following this 1-3 day aging process will ensure the tenderness of your Charlie’s Chickens pasture raised poultry.

Most commercially available chickens spend their entire existence within three quarters of a square foot indoors, one among 20,000 other chickens.
Our chickens spend their days on pastures eating grass, bugs, grubs with free access to cool spring water. Our chickens receive supplemental feed with non-GMO barley, amaranth and wheat. Our mobile range coop is moved daily to fresh pasture ensuring optimal health and prime grazing opportunity for every bird. This low density and exposure to nature ensures all of our chickens have the opportunity to express their natural behaviors.
Family Run and Operated
Multi-generational farm focused on producing wholistic, healthy, and healing food. All of our chickens are raised free of hormones and antibiotics, and fed an all vegetarian diet free of any animal bi-products.
